Environmental Responsibility and Accessibility
Environmental Responsibility
Communications
We make use of digital media by publicising the festival mainly on our website, social media channels, event calendars and digital displays. Information about school screenings and invited guests will be shared electronically.
The festival will also be promoted through handouts and posters, which will be printed in limited numbers.
Transport and accommodation
The festival will take place at the Cultural Centre Valve, which is easily accessible in the centre of Oulu. We encourage all festival guests to arrive by public transport, bike or on foot! There is a bus stop near Valve, where most local buses stop. You can also easily reach Valve by bike. For guests coming from further afield, we can provide a shuttle service from the railway station and the airport. When choosing a festival hotel, we favour environmental responsibility and a location close to the Cultural Centre Valve.
Recycling and materials
We aim to minimise waste and recycle all waste. We use biodegradable or reusable tableware for guest events. In the lobby of the Valve Main Hall there is a waste sorting point for festival visitors. The festival will use and recycle previous years' festival decorations at future festivals. Please do not take festival brochures or other printed materials needlessly, and please keep what you take for the duration of the festival.
