TURKU ANIMATION SCHOOL 30 YEARS
Founded in 1994, this unique training school has produced a number of award-winning animation directors and artists. The animation programme created by Priit Pärn and Eija Saarinen has been voted the best in the world no less than twice. The emphasis continues to be on storytelling and students' own artistic expression. Traditional animation techniques - hand-drawn animation and stop motion - remain central.
In the development of the Finnish animation field, Turku's animation training cannot be ignored. Over the years, the sector has grown into an international entertainment industry that employs more and more people. Education must meet this demand for new employees, without forgetting the value of animation as an independent art form.
